Man of the Year Indeed
Congratulations to David Ho, Pacific BMW's President/CEO who was honored as "Man of the Year" at the State of the City & Annual Glendale Chamber of Commerce Awards. This a recognition for the outstanding service and contributions he has made to the city and business community.
Recently, the Crescenta Valley Weekly reported that “Dignity Health-Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center (GMHHC) announced a transformational $2.5M gift from The S. H. Ho Foundation. In honor of The S. H. Ho Foundation’s contribution, Glendale Memorial Hospital’s Laurel Plaza, located in the center of the campus, will be renamed the S. H. Ho Plaza.”
It was also reported that “since its formation in 1970, The S. H. Ho Foundation has donated to countless educational, medical and scientific research organizations around the globe. ‘The ultimate legacy that my grandfather left centered on his dedication to serve those in need. Having always valued
the significant role that a hospital plays in providing medical services to those who seek care, and having come from humble beginnings himself, he carried an immense passion for helping people lead healthier lives. As a result, The S. H. Ho Foundation is bestowing this gift to Glendale Memorial Hospital with a promise that it will pave the path to improved quality of life and increased access to health care for our communities,’ said David Ho, governor of The S. H. Ho Foundation.
Previous to that, The S. H. Ho Foundation donated over $2.5 million to Ascencia, a non-profit lifting people out of homelessness, over the course of the Advancing Ascencia Campaign that helped build a permanent housing facility and bring stability to homeless people in the city of Glendale. This light-filled facility contains a 40-bed shelter in addition to employment assistance, trauma therapy, addiction recovery, mental health services, securing housing services and other practical needs and services according to their website.
Pacific BMW is also listed as a distinguished business partner in the honor roll of Glendale Police Officers’ Association and Glendale Educational Foundation for our annual financial contributions.
Although all these were specific benefits for the community of Glendale, it is imperative to also mention the newest supportive housing development The David T.C. Ho Family built as the first phase of PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) Metro Villas. Without Mr. Ho’s involvement and many other financial partners, this life-saving building and program would not have been possible. It serves as a model for the City of Los Angeles to kick-start projects that progress the end of homelessness in the county.
