For our last Employee Spotlight of the year, we would like to present Manuel Campos, Assistant Parts Manager. The Assistant Parts Manager assists in the day-to-day operations of the parts department, including service fulfillment, inventory management, parts sales, and customer service.
How long have you been with the company?
I joined Pacific BMW as a Parts Back Counter in 2019 and got promoted in August of 2021.
What does your job entail?
As the Assistant Parts Manager, I support Angel, the Parts Manager. I feel very fortunate to lead a great department, I support the team with training and performance management.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I see myself working for Pacific BMW and sharing the knowledge for upcoming parts counter staff.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career in the automotive industry?
If the opportunity opens up, take the challenge, make mistakes and learn to grow.
What are some of the toughest challenges you’ve had at work?
Toughest challenge is always preparing for inventory, we have a lot to count, but I know it is crucial in controlling costs.
When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
The way I motivate myself is taking on more responsibilities.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?
Angel, the Parts Manager is my biggest inspiration, he is the reason why I push forward to grow. Seeing that he went from a Counter associate like me to the Manager position makes him a role model.
How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
My role has evolved from being a Counter Associate to becoming a team leader. I am grateful for the opportunity the company has given me and hope to make an impact and mentor others to be as successful or more.
